Heart Energy Isn’t Simply Poetic....

June 23, 2025

…..It’s physiological and it’s impactful 🤎

According to TCM the Heart is the Yin Organ of the Summer season. It houses ‘The Shen’, often translated as ‘spirit’, ‘soul’ or ‘presence’- connecting us to our selves and to the wider consciousness.

We can’t always change what’s unfolding around us, there is pain and injustice in the world that is too big for any one of us to hold. Even in the face of all we feel helpless to influence, we still carry a subtle, yet powerful medicine:

Compassion, gratitude, love, they each bring coherence.

They strengthen our nervous system. They enhance our capacity to learn, think clearly, and respond to our environment with care and appropriate action.

Science has proven what we have perhaps always inherently known, that our hearts don’t stop at our chests. The electromagnetic field of the heart is estimated to extend at least three feet beyond the body. What is in our heart influences those around us, whether we communicate verbally or not.

We literally feel and experience one another’s heart energy.

We may not be able to fix the world but understanding the energetic influence we have on each other, can create ripples of subtle change. We can offer calm in chaos. Kindness in disconnection. A voice for others in times of darkness and injustice.

This too is medicine.
